FIFA:s nya system för att avgöra vem som är bäst, just nu, har modifierats. Det liknar ELO, det rankingsystem som schackvärlden haft i cirka ett halvt sekel. Av nedanstående går att utläsa att kvällens Danmark-Sverige kamp motsvarar en 1/6-dels kvartsfinal i VM. Danmark är den 22 oktober rankade 13:e i världen. Sverige 19:e. Efter Polen men för Wales.
